Rev. Professor Regina Ngozi Obiageli Ogbonna is a distinguished Nigerian scholar, educator, researcher, administrator, and ordained minister with over three decades of experience in higher education, educational administration, and academic leadership. She is a Professor of Educational Administration and Planning at Abia State University (ABSU), Uturu, where she has served in various academic and administrative capacities since joining the institution in 1996. She attained the rank of Professor in 2012 after progressing through the academic ranks from Assistant Lecturer to Reader and subsequently Professor.
Professor Ogbonna holds a Ph.D. in Educational Administration and Planning, a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Educational Administration, a Bachelor of Arts in Education (English), and a Diploma in Theology. Her academic and professional interests span educational management, human resource management in education, educational supervision, policy analysis, school leadership, gender studies, and quality assurance in education.
Throughout her distinguished career, she has held several strategic leadership positions at Abia State University, including Head of the Department of Educational Administration and Planning, Head of the Department of Curriculum and Teacher Education, Director of the Centre for Remedial Studies, University Public Orator, Postgraduate Representative, and member of numerous university committees and governing bodies. She has also served as External Examiner, External Assessor, and academic consultant to several universities and higher institutions within and outside Nigeria, including Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia.
Professor Ogbonna is an accomplished researcher and Principal Investigator of TetFund National Research Projects. She delivered the 47th Inaugural Lecture of Abia State University in 2019 titled “Managing Human Assets in Education: Theoretical and Practical Perspectives.” Her scholarly contributions include numerous journal articles, books, book chapters, edited volumes, and conference papers on educational administration, supervision, leadership, policy implementation, human resource management, and institutional effectiveness.

A dedicated mentor and supervisor, Professor Ogbonna has successfully supervised and guided a significant number of postgraduate dissertations and doctoral theses, contributing immensely to the development of educational leadership and scholarship in Nigeria. Many of her former students now occupy strategic positions in academia, educational administration, and public service.
Beyond academia, Rev. Professor Ogbonna is an ordained minister of the Assemblies of God Nigeria and has served in several ecclesiastical leadership roles, including Women Ministries Coordinator, Conference Coordinator, and member of the Board of Education. Her commitment to faith-based leadership, community development, and women empowerment has earned her widespread respect within both academic and religious circles.
She is a Fellow of the Gender Studies Association of Nigeria and a member of several professional bodies, including the Nigerian Academy of Education (NAE), the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), the Nigerian Association for Educational Administration and Planning (NAEAP), the Commonwealth Council for Educational Administration and Management, and the Kappa Delta Pi Honour Society in Education.
Professor Regina Ngozi Obiageli Ogbonna remains a respected voice in educational leadership, research, policy development, and human capacity building, continuing to make significant contributions to the advancement of education, scholarship, and societal development in Nigeria and beyond.
